ILTexas shines on a national stage after two VIP visits
Last week, International Leadership of Texas had the opportunity to open our doors (both virtually and in-person), to two very special VIP guests. These guests had the opportunity to engage with our students, families and staff, and learn first hand about our ILTexas mission and our incredible ILTexas family.
First up, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, thanks to a partnership with World Affairs Council Dallas/Fort Worth and Fort Worth ISD, General Martin E. Dempsey spoke with students as part of our ILTexas Leadership Speaker Series. Students had the opportunity to learn important leadership lessons from General Dempsey's, as a retired United States Army general who served as the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Watch the recording below.
On October, 15, 2020, ILTexas had the privilege of showing off our charter on a national stage when U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos came to visit our ILTexas Garland K-8 and ILTexas Garland High School campuses for a tour and round table discussion.
Our students, parents and staff shined during the hour long roundtable discussion, sharing the successes and challenges that have they have worked as a team to overcome throughout the past few month. We could not be more proud of every panelist who shared their story and showed Secretary DeVos how incredible our ILTexas family is.
