Local Charter district on par (and even above) other local public schools
International Leadership of Texas offers students leadership, trilingual curriculum
RICHARDSON, Texas (September 11, 2019) – International Leadership of Texas, a public charter school district with more than 19,000 students in north and south Texas, must brag. Its ILTexas Lancaster DeSoto High School and ILTexas Arlington Grand Prairie High School both achieved an “A” on Texas Accountability ratings. Compared with local school districts in their areas, they outperformed their public school peers.
The accountability rating system of the Texas Education Agency was created to help parents and taxpayers identify how local schools and districts compare to other area public schools, and how they rate compared to peers state-wide.
ILTexas district garnered a B+ rating, at 85 percent, up from 83 percent the previous year.
ILTexas Lancaster DeSoto High School came in at a 92 percent in its first year. “We worked with every struggling student to make sure they get it,” said Marco DeLeon, principal, ILTexas Lancaster DeSoto High School. “No student will be left behind, and our wonderful teachers focused on this.”
ILTexas Arlington Grand Prairie High School also scored an “A” grade by TEA, proudly outranked peer public schools nearby.
“While we purposely put ILTexas in at-risk areas when we open schools in a new region, we know the students still have high potential,” said Eddie Conger, Superintendent, ILTexas. “We have high expectations of these students, and they rise to the occasion.”
